Eigel-Danielson, Inc. is a Colorado based company specializing in sensors, systems, and communications since 1998.  EDI has worked with many of the companies in the Pikes Peak region to design, develop, and produce products.

OUR PROCESS

The Idea - About Page Product Icon Graphics

THE IDEA — At EDI the design process starts with a problem that needs to be solved or an idea (which generally sets out to solve a problem). Understanding what the problem is and how the user currently solves the problem is an important part in developing the right solution. Many times EDI will partner with a client to solve and produce the solution, which is sometimes the most cost effective way for both parties as EDI can continue to maintain the product and solve production problems long after the designs are completed.

CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT — Once the problem is understood, EDI develops a concept. Because EDI has experience in all aspects of analog hardware design, digital hardware design, and software design we are well positioned to propose the best overall solution. This may or may not involve designing new hardware as sometimes off-the-shelf solutions are the most cost effective. One of EDI’s core beliefs is that only products that add value will be successful.

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

1. Software Development:

C, C++, C#, Java, Python, Labview, LabWindows, Linux, Windows, Embedded Systems, Assembly

2.) Hardware Development:

FPGA based designs – Embedded Processor Designs – Analog and Digital

PRODUCT TESTING  —  EDI has a wide range of test equipment and environmental chambers to bring to bear on testing a product.  EDI has a vacuum chamber capable of 200oC, a tube oven that can go up to 1200oC, and an oven that can cycle between -75oC and 200oC, equipment used in particular for testing sensors.  EDI does all of the programming and testing for the Neutron Generator controller cards for production.  EDI has equipment that can be used to measure analog signals to high resolution as well as equipment to measure high voltage.  The test labs at EDI are extremely diverse.

PRODUCT RELEASE / MANUFACTURING — EDI typically does not manufacture items in house. There are plenty of good places to get that done that are more cost effective. EDI has a long relationship with Spectrum AMT (www.spectrumamt.com) an ISO registered contract manufacturer active in spaceflight, military and aerospace manufacturing. Once a product is manufactured, EDI develops test fixturing that can be used either at the manufacturer or at EDI. EDI shepherds a product from concept to shipment of product.
